About Gary
Since 2002 I’ve been traveling around North America and Asia. I’ve been in Taiwan for the past couple of years making a living teaching English & Djing. I live in Taipei city, which is an interesting city, but it is also very polluted due to deforestation and the overwhelming number of scooters that plague the city streets. As Taiwan continues to develop and prosper financially, the people are slowly waking up to the realities of the environmental degradation. The government is building a network of bicycle paths and parks that follow the rivers and flood water canals, so it is fairly easy to get across the city while avoiding the locus swarm of black smoke billowing vehicles. I’ve made a commitment to ride my bike everywhere I go. It’s helped to get me back in shape and also allowed me to get to know areas of the city and country I would never have seen otherwise.
